Reread Verse 5. What are some examples in our own lives of "fierce winds" blowing us toward the "promised land?"

  1. I feel like the "fierce winds" in chapter 6, verse 5 are like the trials we all face in life. If we continue to remain faithful and follow the "light," as mentioned in the scriptures, it will continue to shine forth and direct us in the ways we should go to continually grow closer to our Father in Heaven. As we do so, the blessings we receive through our faithfulness will cause our testimonies to grow stronger and therefore bring us closer to the "promised land," or the eternal life in our Father's presence.

  2. I think it is just mind boggling to think of getting in a boat and having the faith to know that God will get me to the right place. But this is what God is asking, build the boat by praying, reading the scriptures, doing the work, keeping the commandments and being willing to follow the promptings of the Holy Ghost. The faith required keeps me needing to keep praying and keep reading so that I have the faith to wait for the wind when I have done my best to follow God's will. This is an amazing story of faith with big blessing and rewards for their dilligence. WOW!
