WEEKLY STUDY QUESTIONS

What does this chapter teach me about God's relationship with His children?
What does this chapter teach me about my Savior?

How can I use the principles and examples from this chapter to improve my own relationship with the Savior and my Heavenly Father?

ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS TO PONDER

Reflecting on the message in verses 10 - 13 about how "all things which are good cometh of God; and that which is evil cometh of the devil" and how "a bitter fountain cannot bring forth good water; neither can a good fountain bring forth bitter water," how do we make sense of the righteous, good deeds of those in the world who also commit horrible crimes or act aggressively against the Church?

Of all the Christlike qualities we learn about in the scriptures, why do you think charity is "the greatest of all"? Why is charity so important?

  1. I think charity is the most important reason we are here. We are sent to this world in families. We are sent to church in wards. We don't shop for families and we don't shop for wards. I remember a meeting where I heard President Fuller talk about how we as a ward have to live together with a bishop, with sisters, with people in our callings and work out our differences. The same thing goes with families. We don't get to choose our parents or our siblings or even our children but we are commanded to love them all. This is the true test of a Christian. Loving those around us, choosing not to be offended, loving those that don't understand us, and loving those that don't want our love has nothing to do with the natural man. It is only through the gift of God that we can conquer the natural man. Sometimes I get overwhelmed and think it might take me a life time. I love this ward where there are so many that are so easy to love. The Book of Mormon brings me peace and helps make me into a better person.
